GRAHAM NASH

Legendary singer-songwriter GRAHAM NASH is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee-with Crosby, Stills, and Nash and with the Hollies. He was also inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame twice, as a solo artist and with CSN, and he is a GRAMMY Award winner.

Nash’s passionate voice continues to be heard in support of peace, and social and environmental justice. The No Nukes/Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) concerts he organized with Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt in 1979 remain seminal benefit events.  In 2011, Nash was instrumental in bringing MUSE back to the forefront with a concert to benefit Japan disaster relief and groups promoting non-nuclear energy worldwide.

In September 2013, Nash released his long-awaited autobiography Wild Tales, which delivers an engrossing, no-holds-barred look back at his remarkable career and the music that defined a generation. The book landed him on the New York Times Best Sellers list, and will be released in paperback format this fall.

In recognition for his contributions as a musician and philanthropist, Nash was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth. While continually building his musical legacy, Nash is also an internationally renowned photographer and visual artist. With his photography, Nash has drawn honors including the New York Institute of Technology’s Arts & Technology Medal and Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters and the Hollywood Film Festival’s inaugural Hollywood Visionary Cyber Award.  His work is collected in the book Eye to Eye: Photographs by Graham Nash; he curated others’ work in the volume Taking Aim: Unforgettable Rock ‘n’ Roll Photographs Selected by Graham Nash (2009).

Nash’s work has been shown in galleries and museums worldwide. His company Nash Editions’ original IRIS 3047 digital printer and one of its first published works—Nash’s 1969 portrait of David Crosby— is now housed in the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution in recognition of his revolutionary accomplishments in the fine arts and digital printing world.

GRAHAM NASH, chanteur, auteur et compositeur mythique, figure sans aucun doute au panthéon du Rock’n Roll, grâce à ses deux groupes « phare » : Crosby, Stills, and Nash et The Hollies. Son immense carrière d’auteur-compositeur, en solo aussi bien qu’avec CSN (Crosby, Stills and Nash), fait de lui un des plus grands « Songwriters ». Il fait également partie des lauréats des GRAMMY Awards. La voix passionnée de Graham Nash continue de se faire entendre, notamment pour la paix, la justice sociale et environnementale. En 1979, avec Jackson Browne et Bonnie Raitt, Nash organise les premiers concerts du MUSE (No Nukes / Musicians United for Safe Energy). Ces concerts, prônant la dénucléarisation et l’utilisation des énergies nouvelles, constituent encore aujourd’hui un évènement majeur. En 2011, il contribue à ramener le « MUSE » sur le devant de la scène en organisant un concert au profit des victimes du désastre survenu à Fukushima, au Japon, et en faveur d’organismes militant pour l’abandon total de l’énergie nucléaire.

En Septembre 2013, Graham Nash sort sa première et très attendue autobiographie, Wild Tales, un retour en arrière passionnant et sans tabous sur son incroyable carrière et sur une musique devenue celle d’une génération. Déjà dans la liste des Best-Sellers dans le New York Times, Wild Tales sortira en livre de poche cet été. Pour sa remarquable contribution dans le domaine de la création musicale ainsi que pour son humanisme, Nash est nommé Officier de l’ordre de l’empire Britannique (OBE) par la reine Elizabeth II d’Angleterre. Mais, tout en poursuivant sa carrière de musicien, Nash est aussi reconnu internationalement comme photographe et artiste des arts visuels. Dans cette discipline, il a déjà reçu de nombreuses récompenses, parmi lesquelles le New York Institute of Technology’s Arts & Technology Medal, le Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters, sans oublier le Hollywood Film Festival’s inaugural Hollywood Visionary Cyber Award. « Eye to Eye : Photographies de Graham Nash » est un ouvrage reprenant l’ensemble de ses oeuvres ; En 2009, Nash met également en lumière le travail d’autres artistes, dans le recueil « Taking Aim : Unforgettable Rock ‘n’ Roll Photographs Selected by Graham Nash ». Le travail de Graham Nash a été exposé dans les galeries et dans les musées du monde entier. L’imprimante numérique de son entreprise, « Nash Editions », la toute première IRIS 3047, se trouve actuellement au National Museum of American ainsi qu’un de ses tout premiers travaux publiés, un portrait de David Crosby datant de 1969. Ce musée est l’oeuvre de l’institut de recherche scientifique « The Smithsonian Institution ». C’est en effet lui qui a décidé d’exposer Nash, en remerciement pour tout ce que ce dernier a apporté au monde des beaux-arts et à celui de l’impression numérique.
